Medical High Polymer Splint is made of a new functional environment-friendly material - the special synthetic macromolecule polyester with a series of physical and chemical treatments.  Under the temperature of 65-70℃, it will intenerate and can be shaped freely, and of advantages such as light weight, high strength, ventilation, water-fast, entire X-ray permeation, biodegradation, innocuous, odorless and non-excitant to the skin. Therefore, it can serve as an extremely ideal orthopedic external fixation material and can substitute for the traditional plaster cast, bandage and small plywood. So far, it has been widely used for the orthopedic external fixation, rehabilitation and for making orthotic devices.

Product Characteristics
Novelty: The splint is made of thermosensitive macromolecular material, and has won the utility model patent.

High plasticity: It will completely intenerate under the temperature of 65-70℃ and can be shaped arbitrarily with very easy operability.
Good air permeability: The splint is full of air vents increasing the skin aeration, heat dissipation and perspiration so as to avoid skin red, itching and other discomforts.
Good transmittance for rays: The patients with the splint can have the radiographic examination and fluoroscopy freely.
Light weight & high strength: The weight of splint is just 1/4 - 1/5 of that of plaster cast but with very high tenacity and strength after solidification.
Clean and water-fast: It is water-washable and the patients can have bath as they like, which improves the life quality and is also pretty conducive to the recovery of limb functions.
Environment-friendly material: It will naturally decompose within 8-16 months buried underground.

Demonstration of Clinical Use
Hand: External fixation for the fracture in phalange, metacarpus, and joint dislocation and the injuries of ligament, muscle and tendon
Wrist: External fixation for the fracture and dislocation in wrist
Upper limbs: External fixation for the fracture and dislocation in distal forearm, radio-ulna, elbow joint
Lower limbs: External fixation for the fracture in anklebone, shinbone, fibula and foot, as well as for the ligament injury and after the orthopedic surgeries

Operation Procedures
1. Choose the splint of suitable size and specification according to the body part that
    needs to be fixed;
2. Wrap the body part that needs to be fixed with the asbestos paper or cotton cover;
3. Put the splint in the water of 65-70℃ for 1-3 minutes and make it completely     intenerated;
4. Take it out and place it at the fixation position, and shape it slightly with hands;
5. Fix the soft splint by the gauze bandage, and the splint will solidify in 3-4 minutes;
6. If the splint is loose during the recovery, the bandage can be re-tightened;
7. After the total rehabilitation, the splint can be removed easily with the bandage cut off.
